If you’re after a charming mix of books and brunch, head over to Readers Café and Larder. This gem is located within the East Maitland library, making it perfect for your little bookworms. The menu reads like breakfast at grandma’s with loads of homemade tasty treats to tempt tiny tastebuds. You can even buy fresh local produce in the café.
While you enjoy your meal, the kids can explore the grassed playground out the back. The café offers indoor and outdoor seating to suit any weather and, after brunch, you can drop into the library and let the kids pick out a new book.

It’s a great spot to combine a relaxed meal with some shopping or a stroll along the river through town and along The Levee. Â
