Young Maitland Writers Group
Overview
Kickstart a Life of Storytelling with Young Maitland Writers – Foundations of Storytelling!
Do you love making up characters, imagining new worlds, or dreaming up exciting stories? Join the Young Maitland Writers program and spend six months exploring the art of storytelling in a fun and interactive way – for free!
Each month, there is a fun, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to write engaging characters, craft exciting plots, and bring your ideas to life. You’ll also get to meet real authors, where you can ask questions and find out what it’s like to be a writer.
This is your chance to experiment with new ideas, improve your storytelling skills, and hang out with other young people aged 12–18 who love writing – all in a fun, supportive environment.
In this six-month program, you will:
- Learn key writing elements (plot, character, setting, world-building).
- Give and receive constructive feedback on your writing.
- Meet real authors and ask them questions.
- Take part in creative exercises to explore different styles of writing.
- Develop confidence in sharing your ideas and stories.
- Explore tools and techniques to support your writing process.
- Join a community of young writers and make new friends.
