Belmore Bridge

Overview

The Belmore Bridge that stands today was built by Mr John Scott of Carrington, and was opened in 1964. It was introduced as part of a state wide plan to improve main road linkages.

The original Belmore Bridge was located just downstream from the existing structure, and was in operation for almost 100 years after it’s opening to great procession and ceremony in October 1869.
